WE ARE BACK FOR 2024 SEASON!
We officially opened the season here at Mambo almost one month ago now so it’s safe to say that summer 2024 is already in full motion! That means the sun is shining, the sunsets are out of this world, and there are already a few contenders in the running for best tune of the year. And if you needed any more encouragement to get over here, we’re thrilled to announce that our swanky San Antonio bolthole, Sa Clau, has also swung open its doors for the year, so you can sleep just a hop, skip and a jump away from the town’s pretty harbour, numerous attractions, and of course, sunset strip.
Decked out in a calm, soothing colour palette, and with views of the bustling square below and Mediterranean Sea beyond, Sa Clau is a quiet hotel and place to rest your head that’s also right in the centre of the action. Its location on the famously beautiful west coast also means it’s a prime spot for exploring some of the island’s most spectacular beaches. Here’s a rundown of some of our nearby favourites.
Cala Gracioneta
A teeny tiny beach just a short walk from San Antonio, Cala Gracioneta’s fine golden sand and clear waters make it the perfect base for lazy beach days. It’s also home to Mambo sibling El Chiringuito Cala Gracioneta, where tasty food, cocktails and smoothies are served all day long. Just make sure you get there early to secure a spot on the sand, or make a reservation for a luxury sun bed well in advance.
Cala Salada
Around 10 minutes north of San Antonio by car, Cala Salada is a picture postcard bay with impossibly clear, sparkling waters. Climb over the rocks (it’s slippery, wear trainers!) to the neighbouring bay of Cala Saladeta, where a cool crowd convenes every day and local vendors sell freshly-made mojitos atop the sand.
Cala d’Hort
No trip to Ibiza is complete without a day spent in the near shadows of Es Vedrà and at Cala d’Hort, around a 30-minute drive south of San Antonio, you get the best views of the lot. Park up top and follow the steep hill downwards until the beach unfurls below, then spend the day swimming, sunbathing and trying to figure out if you feel any different in the world’s (supposedly) third most magnetic point.
